| Abstract: |
The Indian Council for Cultural Relations is an autonomous organization sponsored by the Government of India to establish, revive, and strengthen cultural relations and mutual understanding between India and other countries.
As part of this projection of India's image abroad, the Council publishes quarterlies in Spanish (Papeles de la India), French (Rencontre avec l'Inde), Arabic (Thaqafat al-Hind), and English (Indian Horizons). Attention is particularly focused on the diverse aspects of art and culture of India and other countries that have had historically longstanding cultural contacts with India. For long years now, India and Nepal have participated at the deepest level in an exchange of, as it were, cultural osmosis. The Art of Nepal is, for the general reader, a study in depth of the vast artistic heritage of this beautiful country in the Himalayas. The text is supported throughout with illustrations in color and black and white. |
