Abstract:

The 9th Himalaya - Karakorum - Tibet international workshop is being held in Kathmandu, April 1 to 4, 1994. Organized with the sponsorship of the French Embassy, the French Cultural Center and the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), it has been a good opportunity to present the results of the French research in Earth Sciences, done in collaboration with many scientists from different countries. It is also a fine occasion to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the success of the Makalu national expedition and of the accompanying scientific team lead by Pierre Bordet.
